What baby?

Well Princess Brue was scheduled to arrive two days ago and so far there is no sign of her entrance into this world.  So to get all the patient waiters through the next few hours/weeks/years until she finally arrives, here is a peek into her future stomping grounds.

The room was originally Titus' office and was painted Sherwin Williams Snowbound like the great room.  However, for some reason I felt like Snowbound looked dingy in this room, so my mom helped me paint the top third of the room Sherwin Williams Extra White which is about three shades whiter than Snowbound.  I was very happy with how much whiter it looked and how much less dingy the room was.

I then tested about a million Sherwin Williams pinks and couldn't find one I liked, so I went with Behr's Frolic which was actually in their whites section.

In March, Titus and I made a trip down to Ikea where we bought everything we needed for the Baby room and the basement bathroom.  We picked up two Billy Bookcases, a Sniglar crib, a crib mattress, the chair, the dresser, and a closet organizer.

I love the Bright Lab lights on the bookcase and how much color they add to the room.  I also love that the rug isn't pink since there is so much pink going on in here.  There are also a lot of plants for me to kill in this room.

I made that himmeli heart using the Vintage Revivals tutorial.  I used straws instead of brass tubing and spray painted it gold.

Those Disney books are from my childhood.  My sister is very mad at my mom that I got to keep them.  That is what you get as a reward when you live with your parents while they are moving.

The princess already has a lot of shoes, however, it looks like I will have to invest in some more athletic ones for her.  Do babies even wear shoes?  What are babies?

I painted the painting above the crib.  It isn't amazing, but it is colorful and I like it well enough.  I won't give you too much of a close up :)

And here are a few poor quality iPhone fisheye lens shots to perhaps get a better perspective of the somewhat small room layout.

Her windows are HUGE and look straight out onto the road.  I made sure to get blackout curtains to hopefully inspire her to sleep like a champion.

That random black cylinder in the corner is a foam roller that I apparently never moved to our workout area downstairs.

I'm very happy with how bright and cheery the room came out.  There is certainly a lot of pink going on, but she is a princess after all.
